Steve Wozniak Comments On Jobs Resignation Announcement

Kocim - Gina Smith editor-in-chief of BYTE.com and co-author of iWoz: How I Invented the Personal Computer and Had Fun Along the Way (available at the iBook Store) spoke to Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak yesterday and according to BYTE the announcement that Jobs was stepping down as Apple CEO made him “happy for Jobs. ”

According to Steve Wozniak Jobs, “really has had to sacrifice a lot to run Apple. I mean, just your time, everybody wants you day and night, that’s what I mean by sacrifices. It takes so much out of anyone to be under just the constant pressure and demands like that. ”

Wozniak later added that, “Steve needs now to just have some ‘Steve time. “He deserves it.”

The best part of the interview with Wozniak was his confidence that Apple will continue because Wozniak said, “You’ve got to remember. He was surrounded by great, great people at Apple … and those people are still there. I don’t think the core Apple culture will change because of (Jobs’) leaving, not for a long time. Apple is set up.”

Wozniak is right there are a lot of good people at Apple. It’s doubtful that things will change — at least not immediately. Although the people remaining at Apple have a legacy that is very important to uphold and nurture. We think they can keep that legacy alive and we have confidence in the future of Apple, Inc.
